Configure service areas, travel, and event timing

Set realistic service boundaries, travel expectations, durations, and turnaround time before publishing availability.

Availability is more than an open start time. The full operating window includes travel, loading, setup, service duration, teardown, and turnaround.

Define the service policy

  1. List the cities, ZIP codes, counties, or distance range your team can reliably serve.
  2. Decide how travel fees are calculated and when a custom quote is required.
  3. Document minimum lead time, same-day rules, earliest start, latest finish, and blackout dates.
  4. Record venue requirements such as parking, stairs, elevators, water, power, permits, or access gates.

Configure realistic package timing

  1. Open Packages and review the duration of every active package.
  2. Include the customer-facing service time accurately.
  3. Configure turnaround or buffer time for teardown, cleaning, loading, and travel where supported.
  4. Test two events on the same day and confirm the system rejects an unsafe overlap.

Test the public experience

  1. Open the booking form in a private browser window.
  2. Test one address inside the normal service area and one outside it.
  3. Test dates near the minimum lead time and times near operating limits.
  4. Confirm fees, unavailable messages, and next steps are understandable.
  5. Create a fictional test booking and verify its full time window on Calendar.
Avoid hidden promises: do not advertise a time as available if the team cannot travel, set up, deliver the service, and reach the next job safely.
