Safe connection process
- Create a dedicated business account or application when the provider supports it.
- Choose sandbox or production deliberately.
- Enter only the permissions and credentials the integration requires.
- Run the smallest available connection test.
- Confirm the destination account, number, location, or endpoint.
- Document who owns the connection and how credentials will be rotated.
Secrets: password fields, API tokens, application secrets, and webhook signing keys must be redacted from screenshots and support messages.
